On Friday, I was in the Main Square of Cantalapiedra hosting a Beer Battle. Around 140 people attended a tasting event where we experienced a real surprise.
There were three matchups between Spanish beers and foreign beers. The tasting was conducted blind, and each pair of beers had exactly the same characteristics: two IPAs, two Lagers, and two Festbiers.
These were the six beers that faced off in the battle.
And then came the surprise: Spain won 3–0 , and, even more remarkably, it won each matchup by a fairly wide margin. Since it was a blind tasting, the result was even more surprising.
On Thursday, I’ll be back in Cantalapiedra to host a wine tasting.
