Catas Divertidas Award – August 2026
The Catas Divertidas Award for August goes to Diego González, a true professional whose excellence and outstanding character make him a most deserving recipient.
Named Spain’s Best Sommelier and the country’s representative at the World Sommelier Championship, Diego runs Tiempos Líquidos in Burgos together with Laura—a destination that has become a benchmark for wine lovers.
I have had the privilege of being one of only six students on the Master Sommelier Programme at the International School of Culinary Arts in Valladolid, where Diego has been our mentor. Beyond his exceptional expertise, what stands out most is his enthusiasm, approachability, and unwavering commitment. He has always been there for us—guiding us through every masterclass, offering advice, answering our questions, and sharing his passion for wine with remarkable patience and generosity.
For his professional excellence and, above all, for the kind of person he is, it is a genuine honour to present him with this award.
